ALBERT HAMMOND JR: COMO TE LLAMA? (ROUGH TRADE) ***

Perhaps growing impatient at the lack of activity on the Strokes front, the band’s rhythm guitarist has struck out a second time with an adventurous display of retro rock pyrotechnics. There’s plenty of happy-sad tunes to keep Strokes fans smiling-frowning, but it’s also a great album for texture, especially in its flirtation with rockabilly and folk.
