PATIENTS may be forced to travel miles further to see their GP under plans for new “super-surgeries,” which could be run by foreign firms.


A new report suggests the polyclinics, planned for every region, will trigger the end of local GPs.

Worst of all, many could end up being run by foreign firms answerable to overseas shareholders rather than their patients.

Last night critics accused Labour of orchestrating the end to a nationally-owned NHS after ministers said they also want private firms to take over failing hospitals.
