Robert Koren

Friday August 29,2008

West Brom midfielder Robert Koren has signed a new two-year contract with the Barclays Premier League club.

The 27-year-old Slovenia international has become the second West Brom player in as many days to sign a new deal, with defender Paul Robinson having been the first.

The Koren deal has a further one-year option in Albion's favour.

Koren was manager Tony Mowbray's first signing after joining West Brom, arriving from Lillestrom in 2007 on a Bosman free transfer.

Mowbray said: "Like I said about Robbo yesterday (Thursday), I want as many good footballers at the club as possible and Robert fits into that category.

"He has become an important member of the squad over the past 19 months and has a terrific attitude.

"I'm delighted he's committed his future to the club."

Koren has made 73 appearances for the club and scored 12 goals.
