Middlesbrough swept League One Yeovil aside 5-1 to power into the third round of the Carling Cup.

The Somerset side were outclassed by their Premier League hosts in all departments at the Riverside Stadium and trailed 3-1 at half-time after goals from Mido, Didier Digard and Jeremie Aliadiere.

Gavin Tomlin pulled one back but Boro maintained their intensity well into the second half and claimed further goals through Marvin Emnes and Adam Johnson.
