UK NEWSBROWN IS JUST INCAPABLE SAYS LABOUR BIGWIGTuesday July 1,2008 By Alison Little Deputy Political EditorBELEAGUERED Gordon Brown suffered a stinging blow yesterday when a key Labour donor declared him “an incapable leader”. Prime wealthy donors who bankrolled Labour under Tony Blair broke ranks to reveal they may not support his struggling successor.[>
Even Mr Brown’s colleague, Health Secretary Alan Johnson, likening the Prime Minister to a Wimbledon tennis player, said: “He is not interested in strutting his stuff on the show courts.”[>
The humiliations came as Mr Brown scrambled to avert disaster after close friend and Labour leader in the Scottish Parliament Wendy Alexander resigned in shame over campaign donations.[>
He also faces a new by-election test following the resignation of a Scottish Labour MP whose expenses are being examined.[>
Business guru Sir Gerry Robinson, who has given Labour £70,000 since 2001 signalled he would probably give no more while Mr Brown was leader.[>
The former Granada TV chairman added: “Labour look in a lot of trouble and Brown is showing all the signs of not being a capable leader. These crises don’t happen accidentally. It’s not just an issue of timing. It’s an issue of getting it right or not getting it right. And it doesn’t feel right. It’s probably an impossible position to come back from.”[>
[> Sir Gerry added that Mr Brown wanted to control every detail and “you can’t run a family like that, let alone the country.”[>
Criticism also came from millionaire electronics tycoon Sir Maurice Hatter, who has given more than £176,000 to Labour since 2001. He said it was time to replace Mr Brown.[>
He added: “He hasn’t got the charisma. He was a good No2 but he is not a No1. The party would be better without him.’’[>
Author and businessman Sir Christopher Ondaatje who has donated £1.6million, warned that the “dangerous decision” to bail out Northern Rock with public funds would end in disaster.[>
Everton football club chairman and theatre producer Bill Kenwright, who has given £255,000, said the Government had “lost touch with the people”.[>
Reluctance by other wealthy backers to give cash will leave Labour more dependent on the unions. Lord Levy, Labour’s chief fundraiser under Mr Blair said it seemed “very difficult’’ now to get large donations in.[>
He added: “The party needs to consider the leadership.”[>

PETER_PAN. DO FOCUS YOUR MINCE PIES ON THE STORY "DRUNKEN MAN TRIES TO ROW HIS WAY HOME"
01.07.08, 2:16pm
Gormless Brown has a recurring nightmare that whilst flying a Lancaster Bomber over the Gulf of Corinth, the wings suddenly iced up and he went into a flat spin.
AND THE CONTROL FREAK HAS BEEN IN A FLAT SPIN EVER SINCE.

So what is the alternative ?.....Sit quietly for a while and trawl the the inner reaches of our minds.
Labour has come up with good ideas, but has not been strong enough to see them through to a logical conclusion, or indeed 'any' conclusion.
In many instances, catering for the minority !
Referring to 24 hour drinking. Why, oh why should the tax payer suffer to pay for Police /NHS, local councils, as a result of violence, injury, cleaning up after drunks, or merely a night out, the same would apply to litter louts. Wrong doers should be caned, and caned hard financialy. Democracy, "in my book" why should drunks, wrong doers, dictate to society when pubs are stopped opening society demands pubs close, due to a few louts, is this anarchy, There is a deal more incapability in society today as well as in Government.

CLOWN BROWN
01.07.08, 9:54am
The man has let the country down in so many ways, selling gold cheap, selling us down the river to Brussells, selling his soul and ours to our masters.Surely it is obvious we have a "leader" who is inept in every way.Go to the country now Mr Brown and join Blair making millions writing all about his time conning our country.Or the other failures doing television chat shows,or giving "expert" opinion on everything from polotics to the price of gold.
