NO GO: Deco's agent says links with Chelsea aren't true

Thursday June 12,2008

By Julia White for express.co.uk

THE agent of Barcelona playmaker Deco has denied speculation his client is on his way to Chelsea to join new coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.

The Brazil-born duo have enjoyed a good working relationship with the Portuguese national team prompting rumours that they will join up again at Stamford Bridge.

Scolari is set to take over on July 1 armed with a blank cheque to make the team European champions and Deco is out of favour at Barcelona.

But, according to his agent Acaz Fellegger, that does not mean he is poised to move to London.

He said: “Deco is still under contract with Barcelona, even though everyone knows that he will leave the club.

“He was also linked with Inter Milan, and now with Chelsea, but it is all speculation. There is nothing in it.”

Deco, 30, said earlier this week he would like to work with Scolari at club level. He said: “He is a coach with whom I have a great trust and a relationship that is impossible to better."
