FOR years it has been nothing short of a musical comedy show offering a spot of light entertainment at the expense of our European neighbours.

But now it seems the Eurovision joke is on us with even BBC host Sir Terry Wogan kicking up a stink over an
eastern European fix.

The amiable Irishman has threatened to quit the contest after the UK’s entry Andy Abraham finished in 25th and last place on Saturday despite his song Even If being better than most of the other offerings.

Not surprisingly, Russia’s Dima Bilan won with a massive 272 points thanks to the support of the eastern bloc, including the maximum 12 points from ex-Soviet states Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine and Armenia.

Bulldog4ever1933 what a narrow minded bigoted person you are. I think that Britain would be a much nicer country without people like you in it this goes for anyone else who is narrow minded including church leaders, Imams who twist the Koran to suit themselves and in fact any person with these outdated views. Decent Brits only want to live a quiet decent life while maintaining our history and traditions not alienate people because they are different. Hope you never discover that a member of your family is gay as I would feel really sorry for them being related to you.

Lets ask ourselves 'who has benefitted most from being in the EU'?

Well lets just put it this way. Is Great Britain doing better now than when the EU's new Eastern European members were part of the USSR?

Score card:

Eurovision winners = Easten European members
EU winners = Easten European members

Eurovision loser = Great Britain
EU loser = Great Britain

Its a one sided fix in favour of former members of the USSR

Russia's gain, our loss.

Unfair to the British.

Thats another reason why I want to leave the EU.

More like a politcally driven contract.
To be fair it could be that there are so many country's in europe with completely different taste in music than us that we just dont cut it for them.
But I dont think so.
It has been a joke for years but now its an insult, no more let them have it, its old hat and not at all anything like it should be, certainly not practised in the spirit it was meant to be.
What was that song from all those years ago, oh yes, Puppet on a string.
We have so little in common with Europe, dont you think.!
