Is Gordon Brown's time up?

Monday April 28,2008

By Gabriel Milland Political Correspondent

BELEAGUERED Gordon Brown was humiliated yesterday as a key Labour figure described him as “a liar” and said Tony Blair believed the PM would lose the election.

Former Labour fundraiser Lord Levy used publication of his memoirs to attack Mr Brown even claiming that he shocked a crowded restaurant by loudly proclaiming he was “not gay”.

His account also embarrassed Mr Blair, his former friend and hero. Lord Levy revealed that the ex-Premier’s own staff had fears over his “long massage sessions” with mystic guru Carole Caplin.

The revelations from someone who was a staunch party loyalist came only days before Labour faces voters for the first elections since Mr Brown became Prime Minister.

Local polls in England and Wales are set to pile more pressure on Mr Brown after the debacle of his climbdown on the 10p tax rate last week.

A new opinion poll of the crucial marginal constituencies that will decide the next general election yesterday showed the Tories on course to take 131 seats from Labour with a huge 9 per cent swing.

Do YOU think Gordon Brown should step down? What do YOU think of his behaviour as Prime Minister?

GORDAN BROWN TIME IS UP

09.05.08, 5:25pm

Gordan Brown retained high office purely and simply by being bought of by Blair, who couldnt get rid of him, his long period in office had nothing to do with being good at his job, as history will show, he has been an utter disaster, able to look good in his early years, only because he inherited a massive surplus from the Conservative Party, this was squandered very early on, he then had to resort to unprecedented tax increases to maintain his mania for pooring our money down the drain.
Another "long serving" person in high office was 2 JAGS, the same applies to him, Blair was unable to do the decent thing with this person either, to be a bit fair in this case he has done the right thing, lets hope GB does the same and soon.

"The party's tally of councillors has reached a psychological barrier of 100 - but a deeper look at the nationwide results reveals that there can be a world of difference between a point of importance for a small party and a genuine gathering of electoral steam.

In fact, those councillors represent less than 1% of all those elected in the UK and gains on the night, beyond the headline-grabbing result in London, were short of some expectations. "

wow, so your beener pals now have less than 1% of the council seats in the uk!?

well, that is very imporessive stuff indeed. you guys sure are a major force... less than 1%!

why is Treehugger wrong. He will be aware of the system . But why should a PM without a single english vote have charge of England legislation. More so as he was never elected by anyway as PM. By the way I am Scottish also !
