THE families of two teenagers killed in a crash paid tributes to their “beautiful” daughters today.

Jade Emanuel, 17, and Rhiannon Davies, 18, were travelling to Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, in a blue MG Rover ZR car when it collided head on with another car on Saturday.

Jade’s parents, Lisa Emanuel and Neil Merry, and her stepfather, John Emanuel, said in a statement: “Jade was stunning and beautiful, and would do anything for anyone.

“She was big sister to Leoni, 12, and Jez, six, and loved them to bits, and would do anything for them. She loved spoiling them.

“She loved life, partying with her girlfriends, and was always smiling. Jade was our precious girl.”

In a poignant message to their daughter, they added: “Be strong, hold Rhiannon’s hand. Take care.”

Treorchy Comprehensive School student Jade, who also leaves her boyfriend, Gareth, wanted to be a learning disability nurse.

The teenager, of Blaencwm, Rhondda, had applied to the University of Glamorgan to take a foundation course in health science. She worked part-time with her mother at Parish & Green opticians in Treorchy.

Rhiannon’s parents, Julie and Richard, said: “Rhiannon was a beautiful 18-year-old, a popular and caring girl with a loving and kind personality.

“She touched the heart of everyone she knew and will be sadly missed by all her family, her friends and her boyfriend Ashley.”

They also added a message to their daughter and her friend, saying: “Goodnight and God bless, friends together Rhi and Jade.”

They said Rhiannon, of Treherbert, Rhondda, was studying for a BTEC in care at Coleg Morgannwg, Rhydyfelin.

The crash happened at 1.50pm on Saturday on the A465 Heads of the Valleys road between Hirwaun and Baverstocks. The pair are believed to have been on the way to Merthyr Tydfil to go shopping.

Police said it was raining heavily at the time and that the road surface was very wet.

A South Wales Police spokeswoman said: “The Rover was travelling in the general direction of Merthyr Tydfil when, for reasons yet to be established, the vehicle lost control and collided head on into the Audi motorcar which was travelling in the opposite direction.”

Anyone who saw the Rover before the crash is asked to contact police on 02920 633438 or their local police station.

YOUNG INEXPERIENCED DRIVERS

perish like no other group on the roads.

Here in Wales there are so many flowers at the sides of the roads, it looks like Wales in Bloom.

A daily reminder of the amount of lives lost, yet still fails to slow people down.

It is unclear still, what caused this crash, however it only takes a scond to lose control, and this is the result.

Two lovely girls dead. And the only good thing being no-one else was killed too.

My thoughts are with the families.

SO SAD FOR THESE YOUNG GIRLS

31.03.08, 2:41pm

This is so sad, two lives snuffed out suddenly. There are too many cars on the road and that must be sorted out by this barmy goverment also but they just let them carry on in their droves on the roads, with their newly passed drivers who dont stand a chance with the speeding maniac drivers who think they own the roads. They should ban all driving instructors now as it can`t go on like this.
