UK NEWSHEATHER TO GET £25M SETTLEMENTSaturday March 15,2008 By Mark ReynoldsSIR Paul McCartney will have to pay £25million to his estranged wife Heather Mills, it was claimed last night. Just days before the High Court formally announces details of the “Divorce of the Century” settlement, sources said a preliminary judgment allows Ms Mills to pocket £25million of the former Beatle’s £825million fortune.[>
But the lump sum payment will come as a huge disappointment to Ms Mills, 40.[>
One legal expert said: “She had wanted something in the region of £60million.”[>
After months of increasingly bitter wrangling, Sir Paul, 65, will officially be told on Monday by Mr Justice Bennett the sum he must give Ms Mills, whom he married in June, 2002.[>
But a source closely connected to the case claimed she will receive roughly £4million for every year of the marriage.[>
It is not clear whether the sum includes provision for the couple’s daughter Beatrice, who was born in 2003. [>
The source said: “The judgment has been made. The parties received their copies this week. [>
“On an analysis of the case law, Mills was always going to receive around £25million. I think it’s fair to say the judge has not erred from that.”[>
Experts had predicted the former model would secure between £20million and £30million, making it one of the largest divorce payouts in British legal history.[>
One expert said: “She had initially been offered around £10million so it is somewhat of a compromise.[>
“The judge has had to consider such questions as security for Ms Mills and arrangements for their daughter. [>
“What will be really interesting is what the judge decides in terms of publicity for his ruling.[>
“He has the option of making all or parts of the settlement public if he deems it in the public interest. Alternatively, the whole ruling could remain confidential.”[>
Sir Paul hired two of the top legal brains – Nicholas Mostyn QC and Fiona Shackleton – for the case.[>
Ms Mills chose to represent herself in the six-day divorce hearing last month. This was after she parted company with lawyers Mischon de Reya. [>
She now faces a demand from them for about £2million in fees for preparatory work.[>

But congrats on parting that old tight ar$e McCartney from some cash, bet he cried a river.
He had to take on some work to pay you off because he only had £850 Mill in the bank but i'm sure he will pull through.
Please McCartney,do not inflict any more of your over-rated mediocre music upon the British public,it was okay in the sixties when we all lacked sophistication.
The Beatles existed for six years only and you r massive fortune has been amassed on the back of massive hype.
Oh,and your daughter Stella,is absolutely VILE.
