£6M SHARE FOR UK JACKPOT WINNERS

Saturday February 9,2008

The £96 million-plus EuroMillions jackpot was shared between 16 winners from across Europe, with six lucky ticket-holders from the UK picking up a share of the top prize.

The winning main numbers were 17, 38, 28, 44 and 30 and the two lucky stars were 01 and 04.

Nobody matched all five main numbers and the two lucky stars, so the rollover jackpot rolled down to the next prize level.

The 16 winners who matched all five main numbers and one lucky star will each receive £6,462,181.30.

If a single ticketholder had scooped the jackpot it would have been the biggest payout of its kind in the world.

The winning tickets were purchased as follows: six from the UK, five from France, two from Switzerland, and one each from Austria, Belgium and Portugal.

A total of 32 people each picked up £56,931.50 for matching the five main numbers, and 277 won £4,697.80 for matching four main numbers and both lucky stars.

Next week's estimated EuroMillions jackpot is £11 million.

HOW ABOUT A £1M MAXIMUM PAYOUT IN UK

10.02.08, 12:25am

If £1M maximum payout then more people would get decent payouts and all winners put on a goverment database if claiming benefits it should be worked out how long it will last them before they can reclaim benefits, if spend like crazy then hard luck no benefits, it should cut the burden on the taxpayer and the NHS as the winnings send a lot of them crazy.

GOOD MORNING

Thanks for that
Yes and lets not forget the ludicrous things the money does go to, thanks to the stupidity of the quango allocating funds to idiotic schemes and causes, some of which are no benefit to this Country.

I AGREE WITH ROBERTG

I also would be inclined to buy more tickets if it were going to worthwhile causes like education and NHS and not repairing old ships or olympics.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 16

09.02.08, 7:24am

That exactly as it should be, 16 people with comfortable windfalls.
96 million would be a positively indecent amount, The lottery is best when several people win.
As the lottery is said to be lacking support, its time Camelot altered the winning levels making it more attractive for the lower bands.
