SHOULD WE KICK OUT ALL FOREIGN CRIMINALS?

Story Image

KILLER: Andrezej Kunowski

Saturday February 2,2008

By Tom Whitehead

SUSPECTED Polish criminals are set to be released onto Britain’s streets because of shambolic delays in returning them home.

Alleged and convicted violent yobs, drug dealers, muggers and burglars wanted in Poland could be freed because lawyers will argue that continued detention breaches their human rights.

It stems from Poland’s repeated failure to fly them home once extradition has been agreed. Two suspects, one accused of a serious assault, are already understood to have been let out.

Sir Andrew Green, chairman of Migrationwatch UK, said: “These are serious offenders. The Government has a clear obligation either to insist they be deported or keep them in custody.”

Shadow Immigration Min-ister Damian Green added: “The Government must say what it proposes to do to deal with this problem. Have they considered chartering their own planes to return these people?”

Poland is struggling to cope with the huge number of extradition requests it has made to the UK for its citizens wanted for crimes back home. In the last 12 months police have been asked to  track down 257 suspected Polish criminals so they can be returned. Poland tops the list of countries requesting the return of suspects from Britain, with 39 in the past two months.

Countries requesting extradition have up to 17 days to return the suspect from when the request is granted. But Poland is unable to find seats on planes quickly enough, leaving many being detained here for lengthy periods.

Do YOU think we should kick out all foreign criminals? Should  lawyers be arguing that continuing to detain them is a breach of human rights?

INCOMPETENT GOVERNMENT

All illegal aliens should be deported immediately, and all foreign criminals likewise. Then Brown and his whole cabinet should resign and leave the Country, somewhere nice like Iraq.

Once again you are relying on figures likely dreamed up by the Government.

The people leaving this country are doing so because they don't like the way things are going, and are leaving for a better life.

If I could afford to do that, I would be typing this message from somewhere else myself!!!!

People from Africa and other non-Eu countries literally *do* just walk in here, hands outstretched to claim whatever they can.

Why do you think there is a huge rise in the costs to the NHS for HIV & Aids related problems, together with Hepatitus C?

Why do you think the cost of immigrants having their babies here has rocketed??

They don't just come for one session of treatment, they come for the duration, and while they are sick, they get benefits.

Your comment on why do they come all this way across the world for a few quid???

Well, it is because they don't likely have that 'few quid' from the country they have travelled from.

Ask yourself this. Why do they come from far and wide in the world to this small island, across many other beautiful civilised countries to get here?

What is so special about our little island, that other countries do not have???

Free money, and free housing. That is what.

Re this comment:-

they are here to work, make money and improve their lives and the lives of their family. that is to be respected, not to be criticised.

Fair enough, in certain circumstances that may be true. But lots of immigrants are not here legally, and therefore should not BE allowed to work. They should be shipped home, together with their families.

Being here illegally, should NOT be respected, and does deserve criticism.

We live on an island, and there is not enough space for everyone in the world to come and live (or work) here.

FOREIGN CRIMINALS. BOFFIN,

13.02.08, 6:05pm

It's disgusting tha t foreign criminals are allowed out onto our streets, havant we got enough problems of our own,if the polish government or the government which is responsible for the criminal cannot arange to take them back, a plane should be chartered from here and the bill sent to the government concerned for payment, no they are probably dragging their feet because they dont want them back.

yes i have seen that headline... what a load of rubbish. 316000 is actually a decrease in immigraiton in previous years, as i show in my comment there. and pretty small considering at least 200000 people will be leaving britian in any given year. so, another non-event taken out of context.

as for your other points, you did not say 'if' you said 'how can you' implying something i hadnt said.

and no, most of them do not want handouts. 50% of immigrants already come with a job. the vast majority of the rest have to guarantee they have family who will support them.

immigrants, until they gain residency status (after 3 years at least, and passing of the life in the uk test) have no recourse to public funds.

its stamped in thier passport.

this idea that people from africa can just walk in and collect the dole is a fabrication. members of the EU have some recourse. but not overseas migrants.

furthermore, what you don't seem to get, is why would anyone come all the way across the world to get a few quid a week on the dole or social assistance? it doesn't make sense does it?

they are here to work, make money and improve their lives and the lives of their family. that is to be respected, not to be criticised.

MISSED THE POINT AGAIN VINCE

13.02.08, 1:42am

You have accused me of lying.

I asked you *if* you were defending their right to stay here, and *if* that were so, why?

So where was I lying in that?

Where did I say that you don't think foreign criminals should be kicked out.

I implied your defence of all foreigners makes it appear thay way...

You also say that if someone has attained British Citizenship they are 'our' responisiblity.

That is just pants. They should be stripped of their passport and booted out, the same as the others.

British passports should be given out very carefully. Not to all and sundry. It should be a priviledge to own a British passport, not a reason to scam the country by brining in extended families.

By the way, have you seen the headline for today - 13th February, how there are 860 immigrants welling our population EVERY DAY?

Most of them wanting hand outs no doubt.

get a grip. i was reponding to the pro bnp rubbish that was put out here, and making the point that they are not a party of law and order, but actually have a executive made up of many violent criminals.

you can't deal with that truth, so once again you hurl insults at me personally.

then you go on to lie and say that i have said that i don't think foreign criminals should be kicked out. i never said that at all. why do you lie?

in my opinion on that issue, actually i think that it is actually reasonable for foreigners (i.e. people who have not attained british citizenship) who commit crimes should be kicked out. however, this is complicated.

1. if we want people to be punished for thier crimes, we have to make sure that the country that we send them to will actually trial them and punish them for those crimes (otherwise, they'd be getting away with it, wouldn't they?)

2. if someone has attained british citizenship, they are effectively our responsibility and should be dealt with by us, no matter where they were born.

seem reasonable enough to you? or would you like to lie some more?
