PROSTITUTE MURDERS: MAN IN COURT

A police prison van carrying Steve Wright, who is charged with the murder 5 Ipswich prostitutes

Monday January 14,2008

A jury has been selected to hear the trial of a former pub landlord accused of murdering five prostitutes.

Steve Wright, 49, of Ipswich, Suffolk, denies murdering Gemma Adams, 25, Tania Nicol, 19, Anneli Alderton, 24, Paula Clennell, 24, and Annette Nicholls, 29.

A total of 114 potential jurors were whittled down to 24 after being asked whether they knew the victims or witnesses in the case.

Twelve of them - 10 men and two women - were then sworn in and will form the jury for the trial. The others are reserves in case some drop out.

The potential jurors had to fill in a questionnaire asking whether they knew the victims or some of the witnesses in the case, or had connections to certain occupations or the media.

The judge, Mr Justice Gross, told the 12 jurors who were selected they must ignore any media reports they read or saw about the case and must not do their own research.

He said: "Do not try to obtain information elsewhere - for example, on the Internet - about the case or any matters which are raised in the course of the trial."

Wright arrived at Ipswich Crown Court in a prison van flanked by two police cars as a BBC TV helicopter buzzed overhead.

Wearing a black suit with a white shirt and dark-coloured tie, he appeared in Court One surrounded by security guards. He spoke only to confirm his name and listened to the lawyers' discussions of administrative tasks during the hearings.

The prosecution, led by barrister Peter Wright QC, is expected to open its case on Wednesday. The trial is expected to last for at least six weeks.

MAN IN COURT

14.01.08, 9:04pm

I'm more concerned about the cost of the BBC helicopter, was that really needed? If so, why?

" A man was in court today, charged with the murders of five young girls, here's a shot of him from five hundred feet up, can you see his bald patch, he must be guilty, slaphead "
Why waste money like this when people are sick of funding nonsense.

ANOTHER STRANGE AND TIMELY COINCIDENECE?

14.01.08, 12:33pm

I have heard several people remark on the strange coincidence of the timing both of the murders of the 5 prostitutes and the massive coverage by the media and press of these murders.

What else was happening at precisely that time, 2 years ago, which urgntly needed public attention being taken off it and placed elsewhere?

Lord Stevens and the Pagets were releasing the JUST AN ACCIDENT verdict to their inquiry!

We all remember the confusion of the media as the TV stations cut from the Paget press conference and the Stevens conclusions to the murder of the prostitutes where there was strictly nothing more to add and yet they still kept on going back to it.

The cuts all too often to be considered JUST A COINCIDENCE came just as the Fayed team was to speak out.

Then to add to the confusion the Prime Minister, of the illlegal war, who saw to the registration of Camilla as future Queen in what is considered by many to be a illegal marriage was interviewed by the Police at 10 Downing Street over the Cash for Honours scandal.

How much more could have been put in place to draw public and media attention right away from the JUST AN ACCIDENT result that Lord Stevens was putting forth, with the MI6 linked Rosa Monckton heasay being trumpetted across the world?

The murder of 5 prostitutes and the interviewing of the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street is quite a lot as most people saw it and it did not go by unnoticed.

Today as the most important witness comes to court in the form of Paul Burrel ,we again have the 5 prostitutes pulled out of the magicians hat?

JUST A COINCIDENCE?

JUST AN ACCIDENT?
