Carphone Warehouse: Compensating for a raw deal

Wednesday March 14,2007

By Maisha Frost

GETTING connected was easier said than done for Bristol-based mother Keeley Rodda after she bought a mobile phone from online shop e2save.

Caught in a gap between line provider Orange and the company, part of the Carphone Warehouse, Keeley waited days to get talking with her new Nokia.

"I feel like piggy in the middle, " complained the mother of Honey, four, and Aiden, two. "Orange has no details about me and e2save insists I'm registered. Now I find I'm actually not so I don't have a number and have to return the phone. No apology or anything.

I'm paying £30 a month rental so it would be nice to have something to show for it." Carphone Warehouse readily agreed that Keeley has had a raw deal. As well as getting her contract swiftly sorted, it has now given her 10 months' free rental.

"I feared I was in for a long haul so thank you Crusader for making it a happy ending so quickly, " she said.
