ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT LANDED A JOB IN LORDS

Modupeola Fatoyinbo had access to top politicians in her job as catering assistant in the House of Lords kitchen.

The 41-year-old Nigerian was only caught when she produced a fake passport after she was offered a full time job, Southwark Crown Court heard. She told police she bought it for £170. The mother of two was jailed for four months.

Prosecutor Peter Zinner said Fatoyinbo was able to find work inside Parliament with ease.

He said: “To gain access to the relevant department, she had been issued with a visitor’s pass, and she would be met by a member of catering staff, who would escort her to the department.

“The result of this was that she was working in a secure area without being security checked.”

Fatoyinbo, of Forest Hill, south-east London, admitted possessing a false identity document.
