MCCARTNEY DIVORCE TALKS DEADLOCKED
By Elisa Roche
SIR Paul McCartney and Heather Mills are in a new deadlock over their divorce settlement.
It emerged last night that they have been unable to reach a figure that both are happy with.
Ms Mills is said to have hoped for an offer of up to £50million – which would be the largest in British legal history. But insiders say talks have not moved forward in two months.
“I have no comment on this private matter,” said 65-year-old Sir Paul’s official spokesman last night. “These figures which have been appearing are pure speculation.”
At the office of Heather Mill’s representatives, a spokeswoman confirmed: “Nothing has progressed dramatically. There is no settlement yet. There is no change.”
So far, Ms Mills, 39, is said only to have agreed to Sir Paul’s “generous” offer of regular payments for their daughter, Beatrice.
The four-year-old is likely to receive an all-encompassing £2million a year, paid via her mother, until she turns 18. But Ms Mills, represented by lawyer Anthony Julius, has been aiming to ensure she is looked after just as well.
Her legal team has been trying to negotiate property for their client, plus one “golden handshake” lump sum rumoured to be worth £15million.
But despite speculation that Ms Mills was in line to get the £10million north London mansion she once shared with Sir Paul, there has been no agreement on properties.
Sir Paul’s major concern in the bitter legal wrangle is the privacy of his daughter. He is said to be desperate to protect her from the intimate details of his collapsed marriage emerging in public.
The pair split in May last year after four years together.
The bitter divorce case is now likely to be stretched out to February 2008 when it comes up before High Court judge Mr Justice Bennett of the Family Division.
HEATHER MILLS

How unfair it is, from Heather, arguing, insulting her husband and the father of her own flesh and blood, all she is seeing is the big sum of money and not the well being of her daughter.I have been married for 34 years, and I have brought up 4 children with just £7500 only, they have gone to university and all have a degree,I have had many monents of leaving but I made it a point to stay put for the sake of my children, who I carried, feed, and prayed for nine months, shame on anyone who see his life more important than his child.Even our intestines grumble, just imagine two different people, even identical twins fight! So please for get the money and give that poor child a happy child hood, after all she might lose her father sooner than her mother as women like Heather who run after money will go to any lenght, even marrying someone older and fathering a child, lets stop being selfish to our children, money is nothing but the love of both parents to the child is the most important thing.Oh well I have lived without a single penny to my name, I have had very very bad monents, as I never knew were the next penny is coming from even now, but still I am still married and livig as if all is well. Now its late to leave my husband, as I have my first grandson and even that s important that your grandchildren see both their grandparents. Please I beg all, money is good and we need it, if only I had some, I am sure I would be happy and make a better life to all, but I do not and keep that hidden in my heart.

I tend to agree with Babs.
They always say that one shouldn't believe everything that one reads in the paper.
Heather Mills' stories seem to encourage contrary thinking by the majority. I wonder why?

PENNYS FOR HEATHER
21.07.07, 3:10pm
For the disgraceful vilification Heather has constanly received in the public domain she deserves to be recompensed.
Whatever she does, a spiteful negative slant is put on her actions.
It was only when Heather wasn't with Paul Mccartney, all the insults flew and folks forgot that Linda wasn't a saint , though why should anyone need to aspire to this impossible plain.
To insult someone who has endured a dreadful accident and come out with oodles of courage and a commenable "Don't feel sorry for me attitude" is very sad. Even worse to use this as an area to insult someone is woefully ignorant.
