DRUGS FACTORY WOMAN 'WON'T DE DEPORTED'

Angry MP Philip Davies

By Cyril Dixon

A PREGNANT illegal immigrant who ran a skunk cannabis factory in Britain looks set to avoid deportation.

Huong Vo, 24, would have been sent back to Vietnam after being convicted of farming the ultra-strong weed in a suburban street, a court heard.

But because she is seven months pregnant she would not be allowed to fly home and will now have her baby in Britain.

Guildford Crown Crown was told that the child’s birth would then entitle Vo to remain in Britain.

Last night, Tory MP Philip Davies said: “It is just another example of why we are such a laughing stock in terms of immigration and law and order.

“Once again, the human rights of criminals and illegal immigrants are being put before the rights of decent, law-abiding people. This woman had no concern for the rights of the people who were addicted to the drugs she was producing, so why should we worry about hers?”

Vo, who has already served a two-month jail sentence for entering the country illegally, smiled as she was found guilty of producing the drug.

She had told police that she would “rather die” than return to her own country.

Police arrested her inside the drug factory in East Molesey, Surrey in June.

It contained 427 plants and drug-cultivating equipment.

Rachel Davies, prosecuting, said: “This was a sophisticated commercial operation.”

Judge Peter Moss remanded Vo in custody until November 20 while he asked the Home Office for guidance on her entitlement to stay.
