A MOTHER of five who entered into Britain’s first lesbian bigamist marriage was warned yesterday that she faces jail.

Suzanne Mitchell, 30, wed her lover Caroline Beddoes in a civil ceremony while still married to husband Charles.

In a bizarre marital merry-go-round, Caroline, 24, moved in with Mitchell and shared her bed while Charles, who is 16 years older than his wife, slept on the sofa downstairs.

The two women, who met when they were both pregnant, have now split up, and Mitchell is back with husband Charles, 46, who insists he still loves her.

Mitchell, who blamed her gay fling on post-natal depression, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court, Shropshire, yesterday and pleaded guilty to making a false statement to forge the civil partnership.

She bowed her head as she entered her plea in a case which has made legal history.

The court heard that Mitchell had told a registrar in February last year that she had never been through any form of marriage or civil partnership.

Judge Robert Onion warned her yesterday he could not “rule out custody” when he sentences her next month, but remanded her on bail.

Mitchell said earlier: “Whatever the outcome, Charles and I are still happy together. I’m just grateful that I came to my senses and that I’m lucky enough to have a husband who would take me back.”

Charles, who did not attend the hearing, said at their home afterwards: “We want to put this behind us. We don’t speak to Caroline any more.

“We have made a fresh start. Although Suzanne hurt me badly I have never stopped loving her. She is not a lesbian and never has been.”

He added: “The worst part was sleeping downstairs on the sofa hearing them making love to each other upstairs.

That was heartbreaking.” Caroline, a secretary, said: “I am bisexual and I was very attracted to Suzanne. She told me that she was divorced. But that was a lie.”

Mitchell claims that the affair started when Caroline suggested a threesome with Charles, who refused angrily.
Later he told his wife: “That bitch has muscled in on our marriage.” But he stayed on.

If they (Gays) want to be in the limelight, then they need to respect the rules that govern the rest of us in hetrosexual relationships.

My own view is that its un-natural anyway, or to be trendy you can call me homo-phobic. I don't care.

LESBIAN BIGAMIST WANTS IT BOTH WAYS!

If this woman is jailed it serves her right.
When homosexual men and lesbian women, demanded the right to get legally married and recognized by law. They should also accept all the rules governing marriage in general. If the Courts make exception to this woman because she is the first person to be charged in this situation or because she is a lesbian, then the law is an ass!
