EUROPE TELLS BRITAIN: DON'T SAY 'MUSLIMS'
Europe: Politically correct
By Alison Little
Secret EU guidelines have been drawn up warning governments not to link Islam and terrorism.
The politically correct directives are believed to be behind ministers not using words such as “Muslim’’ about Britain’s terrorism crisis.
Yesterday the Daily Express reported how Gordon Brown’s ministers had been told to avoid inflammatory language when speaking about the attempted car bomb attacks in London and Glasgow.
Neither the Prime Minister in a major interview nor Home Secretary Jacqui Smith in the Commons referred to Muslims or Islam.
Last night critics pointed to a classified EU document sent out to all European governments offering “non-offensive’’ phrases to use when discussing terrorism.
Banned terms were said to include “jihad’’, “Islamic’’ or “fundamentalist”.

It is completely unacceptable for people in Brussels to tell us what words we can and can’t use.

EU officials said the “common lexicon’’ aimed to stop the distortion of the Muslim faith and alienation of its followers in Europe. European governments had previously agreed on the need to develop a “non-emotive lexicon’’ for use in discussion to avoid “exacerbating division’’.
Gerard Batten, a UK Independence Party MEP, claimed Ms Smith’s statement was “evidence that the Government is now cutting its suit to suit the European Commission’s cloth’’. He is demanding that the full lexicon be published.
But the Home Office insisted: “The Home Secretary uses her own words. She did not draw on any other source.’’
Even Labour former Foreign Office Minister Denis MacShane said yesterday that “Islamist’’ was an “accurate description’’ of the ideology behind the terror attacks.
And Conservative MP Philip Davies said: “Whatever your view on particular words, surely everyone should agree it is completely unacceptable for people in Brussels who have already interfered too much in our lives to start to tell us what words we can and can’t use.
“If we believe in anything in this country we should believe in free speech. If we are allowing the EU to dictate to us on this, most people would find that horrifying.’’
Hugo Robinson, of Open Europe thinktank, said: “Brussels has no place telling national governments how they should deal with the real and immediate threat of terrorism: The EU’s so-called non-emotive lexicon won’t do anything to stop dangerous extremists targeting Britain.’’
A Foreign Office source insisted the “common lexicon’’ was not an exercise in “political correctness’’ but an attempt to find a “common vocabulary and definitions’’ for statements about terrorism.

WHO ARE THESE MUSLIMS ANYWAY, WHAT DO THEY DO?
09.07.07, 6:05pm
what can they do to affect me?
Ponder that for a while then read on. Just another example of you needed one to arrive at an answer.
Across town from the site of the recent attempted car-bomb attacks, several thousand Muslims gathered in front of the London Central Mosque to applaud fiery preachers prophesying the overthrow of the British government – a future vision that encompasses an Islamic takeover of the White House and the rule of the Quran over America.
"One day my dear Muslims," shouted Anjem Choudary, "Islam will govern Britain!"

Or as the government and EU would have you believe, "wonderful peaceful people". Sorry the way I read it there were several thousand, not the odd few radicals. The BBC will probably avoid mention or report it as a festival of diversity.

WHERE DO I START
06.07.07, 6:37pm
I respect the right of Muslims to do their own thing (preferably in a Muslim country), as long as it won’t ever impact on my family or me. IF I ever visited A Muslim country I would expect to abide by their customs, rules etc.
The liberal left wing apologists will have the hump now and decry me as “racist” (must be their buzzword) but I also think the same about Hindu’s, Buddhists, and other none Christian faiths (mosques & temples are not things I want to see in my country – Try building a Christian church in a Muslim country). I have a problem with ALL unregulated immigration, including Eastern Europeans. “If a dog is born in a stable it still would not make it a horse”.
I also believe that the clash of civilisations will never be resolved while global immigration of alien (religious or otherwise) cultures into incompatible host nations is going on. For this happening in Europe I put the blame firmly at the door of all Europeans for allowing the EU to happen without any form of elected mandate from the people.
I think a combination of greedy Western Governments Vs Islam for world domination is the cause of all problems, yup it's my simplified version, and I’ll live with it and probably die because of it. When the doo-doo hits the fan my head will be firmly lodged between my legs kissing my butt goodbye.
I gave 22 years of my life serving this county with HM Forces, now I hang my head in shame at the way it is being invaded & given away for the profit of a few. If I were young enough & could afford it I would leave this country and its future at the hands of Islam (wont be too long now). Thankfully I will probably be dead when that happens, but my grandchildren wont.
To those who decry the BNP, try looking to USA, Canada, elsewhere in Europe, White nationalism is on the rise. If there were no requirement for it, it would not exist. For an alternative take on the news, try http://www.uktabloid.co.uk . The current political party’s cant supply, so parties like the BNP grow with discontent. I have a half black granddaughter and a gay son, I don’t approve but I will live with it, and still support the BNP. My country’s future is at stake.
I’m not up for a debate, I don’t mean to offend, just saying how I feel, like it or lump it, If you don’t like my country don’t let the door hit you’re A$$ on the way out.
