UK NEWSBROWN TO SUCCEED BLAIR THIS AFTERNOONWednesday June 27,2007 By Polly Buchanan for express.co.ukGORDON Brown is to succeed Tony Blair as Prime Minister later this afternoon, bringing Blair's ten year premiership to an end.
Blair will meet the Queen after his last Prime Minister's questions session in the Commons at noon today. He will then bid farewell to his Downing Street staff before going to Buckingham Palace to meet with the monarch and tender his resignation. Signs of the historic change include a removal van pulling up at Number 10.
