CHELSEA are closing in on AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo.

Talks were going on in Italy last night after Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich sent his chief transfer emissary Vlado Lemic to negotiate with Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.

New Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen to be reunited with Pirlo at Stamford Bridge.
