BROWN IS SET TO SQUANDER OUR LAST PUBLIC ASSETS

Thursday November 27,2008

HAVING sold half of Britain's gold reserves at the bottom of the market, Gordon Brown is now preparing a new fire sale of public assets.

There is a strong case for the State slimming down its activities through privatisations but such sell-offs should be planned with the aim of maximising revenues for the public purse.

The Government could have sold agencies such as British Waterways and the Royal Mint for a fortune years ago.

Instead, it is putting them up for sale when they are likely to generate derisory sums because it is desperate for cash.

More than 20 years ago Harold Macmillan attacked the privatisation policies of Margaret Thatcher.

"The sale of assets is common with individuals and states when they run into financial difficulties. First, all the Georgian silver goes and then all that nice furniture that used to be in the saloon, " he said.

But most of Lady Thatcher's sell-offs were much more successful than Mr Brown's, raising billions, creating millions of new shareholders and allowing inefficient industries to improve productivity. S

he also had the excuse of taking over a broken economy and needing funds to stitch it back together.

Mr Brown took over a sound economy and has wrecked it through incompetence and profligacy.

Like a reckless gambler throwing his watch and car keys on to the table at the end of a long losing run, he is flailing around for new collateral. He should not be allowed anywhere near the nation's few remaining items of family silver.

BROWN IS SET TO QUANDER OUR LAST PUBLIC ASSESTS

02.12.08, 2:37pm

UKs last public asset is the public themselves.
By trying to agitate, divide, masses are being misled, or indeed, led into a trap. "Don't get into the box before you see an exit "
You see no man / organization should have its little secret place, secure from all, including all, from nuclear bombs to documents. Secrets must not be beyond scrutiny on the pain of death.....! Millions have died, are dying in many parts of the world for the want of food and water. Well done police, hassle motorists, politicians, binge drinkers, violence, also truck drivers that want to burn pallets on the village green. " Green Is The Colour " The village green protected by a 100 and something year old bylaw, silly truckdriver, violating , intimidating, community laws....!

THE BIG PUZZLE,

28.11.08, 7:16pm

Is why the utter predictability of socialism ( forgetting the title "new labour, dreamed up to con a wary public) didn 't prepare us all for the inevitable fiasco. Shiny white teeth and boyish good looks conned the gullible, The dour and gruff Scot appeal took in the left wing faithful, but to all the people in this country with real sense, disaster was unavoidable, borrowed time the essence of our existance, and bankruptcy the unavoidable ending. I'm not wallowing in hindsight, my friends of the class of '97 remember all too well my depressing forecasts. Communism and pinky socialism cannot and will not ever work because the depth and sensitivity is just not there, only the carefully worked out phrases, and the acting ability which makes them look sincere. The key words of socialist are not "education, education, education", but power, paranoia, and jealousy. On that we build a decent society?

HE ALSO MAINTAINS THE CHAGGOSIAN ROBBERY.

28.11.08, 10:02am

This failed man should have been removed from office thereby protecting this country from further damage a looooong time ago. Regrettably his party own the judiciary, plus we have not enjoyed the democratic opposition politics we are entitled to. The Tories now attempt to rally: but to late for the UK which is damaged badly. So long as we can kiss off the EU then something good will have happened. But what to make of Britains behaviour re: Diego Garcia?...

John Pilger reports:-

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article21328.htm

Since the European act, enacted by the traitor Edward Heath at the behest of the german secret service(DVD), our Parliament has become more and more eroded and corrupt as ever more of the governance of this nation has been absolutely unlawfully given away to Brussels by the traitors in our Parliament. It is time to take back the power treasonously granted to foreign governments with no mandate from the British people. Then we must renew our democracy with proper constitutional safeguards to ensure the corporations that govern no longer are free to enslave us, nor our government.

The Irish have shown the way.

No to the despotic, anti-democratic, and unaccountable, as well as unelected would be dictators in Brussels.

Let us take our country back.

All of the EU treaties are unlawful and are not binding without a mandate under our constitution. We are being conned.

Better off out.

THE MYTH OF GORDON BROWN

28.11.08, 7:53am

How does using phraseology such as "the Fiscal Drop" qualify someone as a financial expert? Anyone with a grain of common sense has seen for years that Brown & Co have no more expertise at running our economy than the 'man in the street'. Professional politicians?...more like 'professional opportunists'
