DESPERATE Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan and singer Michael Bolton have broken off their engagement.

Nicollette, 44, who plays predatory Edie in the American TV drama, and Bolton, 55, got engaged in 2006.

The British-born actress and the singer, who has sold more than 50million albums, were both divorced when they met in 1993 and separated for eight years in 1997.

The split is said to be “amicable”.
