28.06.08, 9:25pm
i agree with the comments regarding greedy petrol companies and even greedier governments imposing outragous taxes in the name of global warming !! FACT ..the worlds climate has actually reduced for the last 12 years on the trot ..!! go figure
anyway i had a very good experience from a mobile phone company and wish to share ..i actually got a brand new iPHONE for free !!! yes free and it is a fantastic piece of kit ..i got it from www.mobilesuperdeals.co.uk/ about two weeks ago ...they had a limited amount to give away so its worth checking them out and you might be lucky ..i also saved a massive £175 a year on my mobile bill using the site ..so there are still some good companys around me thinks .

ENVIRONMENTAL RIPOFF
26.06.08, 4:49pm
It is with great relief that I hear that the majority of people are at last beginning to realise that the UK government’s climate change propaganda that we have all been subjected to has not been entirely true. ‘More than 2,500 scientists’ who have ostensibly blamed anthropic activity alone for global warming are far outnumbered by those scientists who disagree. Furthermore, the voters are to say the least, deeply suspicious of carbon trading schemes and government proposals to force people to pay exorbitant environmental taxes to support the rich property owners who are the only people who can afford green measures to save money on electricity and gas in their homes. It is significant that these very rich people, living in rural properties bought for millions, invariably find that in order to implement their solar panels, wind powered generators, ground source heating, private water supplies and insulation, it is essential to own and run a large 4x4 and trailer, and that the cost of all these things are expected to be assisted by grants paid for by punitive taxation of the not so well off.
The whole green ethic is brought into disrepute by the words and actions of not only this government but also the leaders of the other two major political parties, all vying with each other to increase ‘green’ taxes in order to pacify the green meanies who rejoice in the discomfiture of working class rural dwellers and businesses.
The government’s propaganda about impossible schemes such as ‘carbon-neutral housing’ and ‘carbon offsetting’ cuts no ice with the voters who, when investigating what this means, find that this is just another fraudulent scam, run by just another government-approved fatcat company with the aim of parting the voters from their hard-earned cash!.

LETS DEAL WITH THEM WITH THE HELP OF THE DAILY EXPRESS.
23.06.08, 7:03am
I say we should choose one petrol company and everyone who agrees should buy from that one fuel company. I get my fuel from Shell as they seem more consistant in pricing regardless of where the fourcourts are based. I've found that when buying fuel from them they tend to be a penny cheaper than the national average and all the supermarkets i've seen. In fact i've seen the supermarket forecourts prices rocket recently and they seem to structure their prices from one area to another. This to me is price fixing and when you have a town with few forecourts they tend to hold the consumer to ransom.
Lets get together and boycot certain fuel station companies and force them to reduce prices. If we do this they'll have no choice but to reduce the cost of the fuels they provide as they watch their profits nose dive. It will make good business sense for them to make some profit than none at all and other petrol companies will follow suit as they would be afraid of the backlash being aimed at them.
Come on people and the Daily Express, Lets gang up on them and turn the tables.

When i was made redundant in 2006 after 9yrs in the logistics business I could have sat on my backside and felt sorry for myself, instead i gathered my experience and decided to set out on my own providing a same day delivery service and began the process of introducing my company. since last december my cost have increased by .40ppl!! how as a small business do I pass this on to my new customers? When is this government going to see that they are destroying small businesses like mine who WANT to work and provide for thier fanilies.

SOMETHINGS NOT QUITE RIGHT

Saudi Arabia and OPEC are saying that there is no reason why oil prices are so high, they are saying that the world is awash with oil, so who is pushing up the price??? .. speculators ??? .... No doubt the world leaders and Opec's meeting at the end of this month will find out.
Whoever is responsible should be shot ..... literally... they are pushing the world into an unjustified recession.

SNOUTS IN THE TROUGH
12.06.08, 8:48pm
Not only are the petrol firms screwing the public, as we all know the Government are as bad if not more so and now we have the tanker drivers joining the queue at the trough.
A windfall tax on the petrol companies, a change of government and a few redundancy notices to the drivers, who incidently are only earning £32k a year but want to increase this to something like £36k BASIC, got to be having a laugh.

HOW SOUTH KOREA DOES IT
09.06.08, 7:42pm
South Korea on Sunday announced a $10bn stimulus package to help ease the burden that record high oil prices impose on the world's fifth-largest oil importer.
The government said it would provide workers and self-owned businesses with tax rebates, and low-income individuals with subsidies, as surging oil prices damp consumer demand and squeeze corporate earnings.
"We're facing great difficulty as the world's fifth-largest oil consuming nation while we don't produce a drop of oil," Han Seung-soo, prime minister, said at a briefing on Sunday. "The government will do its best to help reduce the burden from rising oil prices on consumers."

I notice the Government are not being criticized for raking in the taxes from oil companies.
Until Countries like China and India continue with subsidized fuel prices it will continue to skyrocket.

FUEL TAX CRUSADE

WELL DONE DAILY EXPRESS!!!!!
Following the way you have presented the Fuel Tax/Expense issues, and providing the British Public with a well needed voice is great.
Reading in the DE yesterday - Saturday 7th - on how Gordon Brown and his minions have prevented the Fuel Tax Petition from being shown on the No 10 Website, this must have outraged a huge number of your readers, including me!!
The politicians we currently have are largely a complete 'Waste of Space', they say they are democratic and constantly, in my experience, find ways of governing and flouting democracy when it suits their purpose...........they need to feel the heat which is exactly what campaigns such as yours does............makes them feel the will of the people rather than sitting behind their array of locked doors remote from the people they govern.
Anyone who works, brings up a family, runs a car, knows we are 'Overtaxed' across the board, instead of 'Just Woffling' the politicians need to provide constructive meaningful tax solutions. When your people are hurting, help them out. We need to get Politicians back to the mindset that we, the British Poeple, are their family............they work for us and help us out first. At the m oment the Politicians we have help themselves out....'First' - Pensions - Wages - Allowances - and seem to enjoy screwing everyone else into the ground.
The 'Express' carried a story last week about a prisoners 'Human Rights' being flouted, walking him 200yds from court to a Police Station in public was not acceptable.

FUEL RIP OFF........
08.06.08, 7:48am
I have been saying for ages that we pay to much for our fuel. we are taxed on the fuel to pay for other things not related to roads or vars or even transport.
I say lets have a "TAX FREE DAY" and no one goes to work for the day.
i work as acaretaker i go to school twice a day. it costs me now £160 every 4 weeks in fuel. when i started 2 years ago it was £80 every 4 weeks. it is now 1 4th of my wage is on fuel.
http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/reduceby50p
is a petition i started on the 10 downing street web page.
no more voting for labour for me.

ARE GREEDY PETROL FIRMS RIPPING US OFF?
08.06.08, 12:41am
Oh just listen to all these Brown converts. The real price of petrol is 46p per litre, right here in the UK. The rest is TAX and VAT. NOW, for the thinking people out there, just get off your fat bums and make it clear to this asswipe of a prime minister that TAX HAS TO BE CUT. Better still, VAT, remember, it means Value Added Tax, was set up to be put on Luxury items. I do not call petrol a luxury, as such TAKE VAT OFF PETROL.
Now for the real nub of the question. Brown and his cronies are only days off being pronounced BANKRUPT, yes, NuLabour is bankrupt. Just as this country is or soon will be, so Brown is using every means at his disposal to grab as much money as he can to fill the gapping holes in the economy, and this from an idiot that who was seen as the best chancellor we ever had?, oh yes, he kept dipping into the nations pension fund and, oh bugger, its all gone. never mind, tell them they need to work longer, till they are 95 or something, most will drop off the perch before we have to pay state pension that way. Come on Britain, wake up.
Brown and his speaches about listening and wanting do what he can, and how he feels sorry for people who are struggling. This bloke lives in fairy land, and I never actually believed in fairies, not till they made it legal anyway.
We in the UK are the most heaviest taxed nation on the planet, and its got to stop, don't expect the tories to do it. They will sweep to power in a few years time. Never again will we see a Labour government, but the tax burdon is here to stay oh thinking ones and Brown has done irreperable damage to this country from which it will never extract itself, not without sweeping reforms.
