JAIL MAKES THEM BIGGER AND BETTER YOBS

Further to my last post I have just got to say I am absolutely aghast at the killing of the young girl in London. The answer - when the perpetrator is caught he should be tried and put under lock and key for a very long time.

However, having said this the question posed here which I failed to answer was "Should yobs who carry knives be jailed?" I have to be upfront and say that I worked in legal offices for 22 years and my husband worked in Crown Law.

We both think, based on our experiences, that young offenders who are given jail terms go in and come out having learned how to bigger and better things.

One offender in particular I remember was one of twins, brought up in the same household and therefore exposed to the same mistakes, love and care as one another. At the time, he was into the business of stealing cars (not so bad as knife crime obviously) but his activities incurred a jail term. At Court, another solicitor this character did not know turned up to represent him and he listened in the Court foyer to this yob and his friends who were with him, planning their next robbery. After he was released his next crime was murder. He spent his time in jail socialising with other crims whose anger against society made all things we find abhorrent normal.

We believe that jail time is not the answer. There must be laws which prohibit people from carrying an offensive weapons, to stop and search and confiscate deadly weapons and quite obviously they should never be given back to their owners at any time. Stop being fearful to provide Police with more powers to apply harsher penalities which should be applied on their behinds with the birch. Shock treatment may well be the answer but something needs to be done now for it seems almost too late.

Jailed ,yes of course and more. Really tough measures are called for. Its bad enough being targetted by a mob, they cause added embarassment to their victim by attacking them in public in full view of bystanders who never lift a finger to help, and no wonder really as any helper will just become a victim too. These thugs also need to feel humilated. Bring back the birch! Pelt them with rotten eggs and tomatoes, in a public place, like the courtyard of the council estate they live on. Prison is reported to be a soft option. The sentences are very short if a sentence is handed out at all and it makes no difference and changes nothing. Seeing as they are so big on getting respect. Some public humiliation might deter them, from thinking they run the streets and estates.

APPLICATION OF CORRECT DISCIPLINE IN THE HOME

It is not easy for a loving parent to discipline a child, but it is necessary. The greatest responsibility God gives parents is the nurture and guidance of their children in the way they should go. Lack of discipline puts parents love in question because it shows a lack of concern for the character development of their children. Disciplining children prevents long-range disaster. However all our worldly efforts cannot direct children in the way they should go, provide them with discernment or make them wise; God fearing parents encourage their children to seek for God's wisdom above all else! Sadly, today parents do not adhere to this. They are without the love of God in their hearts and are restrained by the foolishness of worldly Counsellors to apply discipline to their children.

What is the answer for today's unruly youth? I believe it would be good if legislation could be enacted to make it possible for a nice kind but strong Policeman to do something these kids have probably never had: Give them a jolly good hiding with the birch for it is too late for them. We need to restore the same system of discipline as was accepted and applied in our schools and in the home. If two teachers were present or two Policemen effected the discipline deemed to be appropriate then satisfactory protection could be set up and do this before things get more out of hand than they are already.

I kicked up a fuss when two Policemen took one of my sons and actually gave him a very nasty pasting - aged 17. They did this because he snorted at the Police when they walked past him at a Mardi Gras. When he came home 1.30am in the morning we were sitting up for him and he was covered in blood, his nose bloodied and cuff marks on his wrists. I called in the Commonwealth Medical Officer and stood over him while he inspected his wounds. I took him to our own Doctor the next morning to verify the damage. I then made a thorough exhibition of myself at the Central Police Station in Canberra, Australia while I verbally slammed the coppers who carried out the dirty deed. Today, I am truly grateful for the pasting they applied to him. My son's behaviour improved out of sight. He never reoffended in this way again. He is a Christian today, a great husband and a very hard worker. His brother who got off with everything both at home, school and everywhere else is a disaster.

Give the Police more powers to discipline these errant kids and also tan their hides. Re-educate these stupid, Godless, so-called professionals who find it satisfactory to foist their secular beliefs on mums and dads who themselves do not "tie the Word of God on the fingers of their children". Such Godless counsellors are good about advising people with principles and practices which are similar to the disastrous theories of Doctor Spock who himself said he had got it all wrong. Time to change and recognise that their worldly psychological theories are wrong. Spare the rod and spoil the child.

MORE LIKE THE USA EVERYDAY

i hate to say this but in the eighties it was said that britain was getting more like the usa .and if we open our eyes and realise that we have been taken over.mcdonalds restaurants are nearly in every town ,and a lot of the fast food restaurants are american ,our entertainment is now american ,bowling ,cinemas etc,the companys we work for ,walmart /asda the foods we eat ,and of course the culture ,with drugs and alcohol playing a major part in youngsters lives and some of our towns are turning in to the bronxs rather than britain with no go areas for police and feral kids making innocent peoples lives a misery and like the usa the amount of people who are stabbed or shot in our streets is appaling .the problem we have in this country is the government and lawyers think more of the crimminals human rights than they do of the victims ,we have to face the facts that america has not found an answer to its problems and they have some of the hardest prisons and boot camps in the western world so we have no chance .

Just this week so far, 3 more stabbings. Until the punishment fits the crime, these thugs will go on murdering kids and any decent person going about their day to day living.
Anyone found guilty of murder, rape and child molestation should be jailed for the rest of their natural life...no parole..they should die in prison. They forgo their human rights when they deprive others of theirs.

Instead of spending money on foreign countries, wars on other countries and MPs expenses...use it to build more prisons. Lets make war on street crime...make a severe example of these young thugs...and their parents, who are to blame for the behaviour of their children and have been since the Thatcher period.

VISIBLE POLICING

The police need to get out more. They need to talk more. Meet people and make friends. One way of making friends would be to treat people with respect, respnd when they need help rather than make them feel worthless.

The problem is not the knifes, that is a simptom of lack of visible policing.

Running people over in your car then tampering with evidence to make it look like you are an angel will simply make people gob on your head from a bridge or drop bricks on you. They won't call you for help and won't respect you. No amount of tazering will gain you respect.

Come and tazer me you gutless wimps. See how much more I respect you afterwards.

People are carrying knifes because they feel they need to. Maybe they need to.

So into jail with the yobs for them to be given all sorts of benefits and leisure activities. What a disgrace. If jail meant jail in the usual meaning of the word, yes they should all languish there until they have learnt their lesson. Unfortunately, there are too many human rights lawyers jumping on the band wagon for these dead beats and bleeding hearts who want to understand them that all they will learn is how to work the system even more. There is no hope whilst we have the human rights act for these people to hide behind and which allows the lawyers to make obscene sums of money. Bring back the birch!

The prisons are full because the law enforcement agancies target the soft targets like motorists and old pension who protest against the mafia rules of this Taliban government and the Councils, to achieve their targets and earn bonuses.

Crayfishebanker claims the crime rates have been falling - what a joke!

When the Police do not attend crime scenes or ignore 999 calls, the crimes would never be recorded correctly.

Recently someone, whose front door was being smashed, telephoned and made repeated pleas, but the police never arrived to protect them.

Whenever I have complained to the police about vandalism, my calls have been ignored. But surprisingly if someone calls the police to report their their drive way or footpath being blocked, not one but two BMW's are sent with flashing lights!!!

The law abiding citizens of this country have now become disillusioned with these politicians who only know how to line their deep pockets!!!

WRONG MESSAGE

A fine completely sends out the wrong message to these thugs and as a result I can see offences rocketing up. This decision is the government admitting to failure, surrendering, and telling us

"Knife crime is normal".

It is NOT normal, and anyone caught should not only go to prison, but go there for a LONG TIME and serve a REAL sentence.

Save the community service for the tax dodgers and less dangerous criminals.
