SPEAKERS BEHAVIOUR A DISGRACE
26.03.08, 8:38am
Speaker Martin's legal attempt to cloak MPs expenses from public gaze is nothing short of disgraceful. He should be reminded he leads the Commons in a British parliament, not an MPs parliament. Yet again he has proved his ineptitude for the position he holds and should go.

BIG TIME NEST FEATHERING !

All details should be published.
We should know the exact amount that MPs are entitled to.
They Inland revenue demand every last transaction of my business to be recorded.
A book of stamps is entered in my records !
And then they find every which way to tax me.
MPs should be investigated and their true income should be divulged to the public.

CHEATING,THEIVING BASTARDS,
26.03.08, 8:10am
Yes our Right Honourable MP's! Not Joe Bloggs in the street, trying to make ends meet.
Who are the bigger cheats, people claiming fraudulent benefits or MP's and their expenses?
MP's by far.
At least benefit cheats are not already on £60,000 plus salary when they do it.
And as I don't see or hear any of our MP's standing up for our right to know I can only assume they're all at it.

MP'S PERKS
26.03.08, 6:33am
I was under the impression that MPs where the servants of the Nation, and that local taxes paid their salaries. If that is the case why are they frightened to have their perks exposed?
Are guilty of abuse....?
I bet you they are!
Expose them!

MARTIN IN COURT BID TO KEEP MPS’ PERKS A SECRET!
26.03.08, 6:24am
These people are public servants and as such are paid for by the electorate. All their running costs should be made available for public scrutiny.
Also if they resort to the courts for protection they should be made to contribute to the legal costs from personal funds and not expect the taxpayer to subsidise another nefarious practice. The everyday UK citizen is expected to pay for his/her day in court. Why should MP's be any different?

ITS MADNESS
26.03.08, 3:00am
When in public life, having the constituents knowing the area of MP's residence goes with the territory of being the elected representative. They even publish this information for electoral and party political reasons.....Where is the secret?
Serial freeloader, Mick "Gorbals" Martin's involvement is to just screw-up the works.
They've been caught and they know it..This is just a costly damage limitation exercise now....buying time in order to tidy up the books..

QUITE DISGUSTING....

............that MPs believe they are somehow entitled to fleece the tax payer and not be held to account as to how OUR MONEY is being spent as so called MP's Expenses?!
MPs must realise they are there because we put them there and pay for them to be there. They, the MPs, can as easily be removed at election time - this isn't quite Zimbabwe!

ITS MADNESS
26.03.08, 12:21am
Sorry to disagree but it seems the stumbling point is the fact that the addresses would be known and it seems campaigners are demanding that they are shown. Well quite frankly I think its madness to give out the MPs addresses and dont blame them for saying no to that. We live in dangerous time. By all means release the expenses but dont give out the full address. The town will do. That makes perfect sense.
