MPs demand £160 to turn up

MPs are set to hand themselves a new £160-a-day allowance just for turning up to work.

SACK ALL MP'S-

CUT M.P 'S PAY TO A COMMISSION ONLY BASIS

The EUROPEAN UNION now makes 85% of our Laws...so what are they discussing in the Westminster Parliament ?

Time and Time again, the British Members of Parliament have voted, as indeed they are doing again this week to allow British Parliamentry duties to be exercised from Brussells....

So if only 15% of Law comes from the hallowed green seats of Westminster, then the British Taxpayer should only pay for 15% of the Salary...

The Members voted for their work to be done abroad... so their salary can follow the jobs !!

LEECHES

09.03.08, 1:11am

There are no other words to describe them, Leeches, parasites, freeloaders.
They only think of lining thier own pockets without a thought for thier constituants.
They must be the only group of people who are not accountable for thier actions, or claims on expences.

BROKEN PARLIAMENT

03.03.08, 12:08am

It is clear that the gulf which now separates Parliament from the British people has got so wide that we must conclude that democracy has broken in the UK.

One of the chilef reasons why Parliament is broken is that its MPs can be blackmailed about losing their very cushy job if they do not toe the party line.

Every time MPs wish to oppose this foreign dominated government they are held back by the golden handcuffs that hold them in line.

If we wish to fix our dead democracy then we must cut not raise MPs pay so they cannot be blackmailed. We need men of conviction in Parliament, not these morally bankrupt toadies whose main concern is enrichiong themselves.

Beware governments which increase MPs pay, they are paying loyalty, a loyalty that truly belongs to the British people.

Cut the wages and free our MPs to follow their conciences.

MPS DEMAND £160 TO TURN UP

02.03.08, 11:18pm

JonO asks: "... DO WE STILL NEED 600 MP's TO NOD AND BOW TO BRUSSELLS ? SACK HALF OF THEM AND SEE IF IT MAKES ANY DIFFERENCE !!"
My supplementary question is "Why stop at half?!"
The first thing that MPs seem to forget is that they are there to represent, and to serve, their constituents. If you want an alternative to UKIP, then you could do a lot worse than to vote for The Christian Party (and the Scottish Christian Party/Welsh Christian Party), a party that is returning integrity to British politics.
Londoners might well take note for the upcoming elections to the GLA.

CON ARTISTS

02.03.08, 10:47pm

If the British people insist on voting these con artists back in to government to then go ahead and vote themselves huge pay rises, bonus rises, expense rises and fat cat pension benefits, then who can blame them?! If I was a member of this exclusive, useless club, I would be laughing all the way to the bank! British tax payers! Lets continue to milk them for every penny, like we have been doing for decades, and getting away with it!! I should chuckle! Time to vote UKIP!

WITH EACH PASSING DAY.....

02.03.08, 9:30pm

With each passing day and each new piece of legislation these words just seem to so aptly sum up the state of this corrupt and detestable parliament.

Oliver Cromwell.....

"It is high time for me to put an end to your
sitting in this place, which you have dishonored
by your
contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your
practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and
enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of
mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell
your country for a mess of pottage, and like
Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.

Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst
you? Is there one vice you do not possess? Ye
have
no more religion than my horse; gold is your
God; which of you have not barter'd your
conscience
for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has
the least care for the good of the
Commonwealth?

Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defil'd this
sacred place, and turn'd the Lord's temple into a
den
of thieves, by your immoral principles and
wicked practices? Ye are grown intolerably
odious to the
whole nation; you were deputed here by the
people to get grievances redress'd, are
yourselves gone!
So! Take away that shining bauble there, and
lock up the doors. In the name of God, go!"

GIVE THEM £560 A DAY TO STAY AWAY !

02.03.08, 9:19pm

Considering the vast amount of damage the NuLabour MPs have done to our nation over the past 11 years, I'd happily give them £560 (FIVE hundred and sixty quid) a day to STAY AWAY.

Their boundless greediness and constant fiddling must occupy a lot of their time, working out how they can push for increases and use their "allowances" to the fullest. What a disreputable bunch. Of course, this applies to all MPs, according to the news stories.

02.03.08, 6:58pm

So public sector workers are expected to accept pay deals of a misrley 2% , MPs claim they are abiding by this and claim to be imposing on themselves but then hand themselves whopping backhanders like this-how corrupt. Its been a hard time for all what with the fuel increases, the energy increases, soaring housing costs etc-we would all like rises of this magnitude-fat chance eh!

I AM LOOSING THE PLOT.

02.03.08, 6:52pm

Britain forks out £100,000 for the names of 100 known tax dodgers

The MPs and the house of common’s Speaker are shredding there evidence.

Second homes expenses will be paid at £160 a day even if they don’t need to be there except to sign in and then leave. It strikes me most of them will be getting £60.000 a year for travelling backwards and forwards to claim the tax free hand out. or perhaps I am loosing the plot.
