FOR GODS SAKE!

funny isn't it that the lady was so distressed by the whole issue that you she went to the press to tell the country how her shopping trip was ruined.

Her actions cloud the real debate here for me.

MUSLIMS ARE MEANT TO REVERE THE BIBLE AND ALL ITS PROPHETS!!!!

16.01.08, 9:27am

The Quran and Hadiths MUST be open to academic criticism just as the Bible is. Covering up the tenets of Islam in this day and age cannot be done in the Western society as we still just about have freedom of information - all version of the Koran, bukhati/hadith are freely available online, there is no excuse.

This is why lots of Christians stopped killing Jews and Muslims because they had the text for themselves and saw that Jesus expoused loving God and loving your neighbour as yourself; linking commandments to the creed of one God, respectively.

Nothing has changed; this tenet always has been and will be - please discover for yourself and don't swallow all you are taught......that goes for followers of ALL religions.

A GREAT SITE

15.01.08, 6:47pm

Just found this site, an eye opener, and the last sentence says, get this, "And did I bother to mention that only 3 percent of Britain's population are Muslims?"
So why do we stand for it?

I WISH THESE PEOPLE WOULD JUST CLEAR OFF

15.01.08, 5:41pm

I wish these people would just clear off. If they don't like our culture, why come here in the first place. She probably wouldn't be working if she lived in Iran or some other godforsaken place. We let them in, we educate them and yet they still kick up a fuss when they don't like something. More fools Sainburys for employing them in the first place. I bet if I worked there and said I won't handle an animal that had had it's throat slit ie. halal meat, I would be asked to leave.

THANKS DEFIANT

Given this exposition, I fail to see where the Bible 'complements the Koran'. That in itself is a blasphemous statement.

YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHY

15.01.08, 4:56pm

"Inayat Bunglawala, assistant secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain, described the assistant's comments as "offensive" and called for Marks & Spencer to conduct an investigation...

So far so good"

Understand they enemy,

Question:

Are Muslims permitted to lie?

Summary Answer:

Muslim scholars teach that Muslims should be truthful to each other.

There are two forms of lying to non-believers that are permitted under certain circumstances, taqiyya and kitman. One of those circumstances is to gain the trust of non-believers in order to draw out their vulnerability and defeat them.

The Qur'an:

Sura (16:106) - Establishes that there are circumstances that can "compel" a Muslim to tell a lie.

Sura (3:28) - This verse tells Muslims not to take those outside the faith as friends, unless it is to "guard themselves."

Sura (40:28) - A man is introduced as a believer, but one who must "hide his faith" among those who are not believers.

Sura (2:225) - "Allah will not call you to account for thoughtlessness in your oaths, but for the intention in your hearts"

Sura (66:2) - "Allah has already ordained for you, (O men), the dissolution of your oaths"

Taken collectively these verses are interpreted to mean that there are circumstances when a Muslim may be "compelled" to deceive others for a greater purpose.

From the Hadith:

Bukhari (52:269) - "The Prophet said, 'War is deceit.'" The context of this is thought to be the murder of Usayr ibn Zarim and his thirty unarmed men by Muhammad's men after he "guaranteed" them safe passage (see Additional Notes below).

Bukhari (49:857) - "He who makes peace between the people by inventing good information or saying good things, is not a liar." Lying is permitted when the end justifies the means.

Bukhari (84:64-65) - Speaking from a position of power at the time, Ali confirms that lying is permissible in order to deceive an "enemy."

Bukhari (52:271) - Recounts the murder of a poet, Ka'b bin al-Ashraf, at Muhammad's insistence. The men who volunteered for the assassination used dishonesty to gain Ka'b's trust, pretending that they had turned against Muhammad. This drew the victim out of his fortress, whereupon he was brutally slaughtered despite putting up a ferocious struggle for his life.

From Islamic Law:

Reliance of the Traveler (p. 746) - "[it is] obligatory to lie if the goal is obligatory... Whether the purpose is war, settling a disagreement, or gaining the sympathy of a victim legally entitled to retaliate... it is not unlawful to lie when any of these aims can only be attained through lying. But is is religiously precautionary in all cases to employ words that give a misleading impression..."

15.01.08, 4:50pm

why arent people like this prosecuted by the race relations board, or this it just a one way street, as most comments have stated that if it was the other way round there would be riots ect, years ago mp's would have brought this matter to parliment, but as usual if theres nothing in it for them they stay quiet.

DID YOU HEAR THE MUSLIM COUNCIL OF BRITAIN'S RESPONSE?

15.01.08, 4:48pm

Inayat Bunglawala, assistant secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain, described the assistant's comments as "offensive" and called for Marks & Spencer to conduct an investigation...

So far so good, but Mr Bunglawala goes on to explain...

He said: "This appears to be a very regrettable incident and the 'unclean' remark was clearly very offensive and unacceptable. "Many Biblical stories complement the teachings of the Koran. We hope that M&S will investigate this incident."

Oh I see - the Muslim assistant should not have called it 'unclean' because our Bible COMPLEMENTS THE KORAN! How reassuring.
