Taking prescribed high dose pain killers day after day after day puts the body at risk. The major organs are all under pressure from the chemicals that have to be refined and their toxins eliminated.
Another factor could be his reduced calorie intake, which we all understand is good for the body, but if the reduction is not balanced and the bodys nutritional needs are not met then once again the function of the major organs may be reduced.
The rigorous rehearsals will have put further strain on the organs, and the heart in particular.
Maybe his body could simply take no more.
