MARKET PLUNGE...BANKS GAIN?

Published: Sunday October 12,2008 by stevewo

The UK stockmarket has "lost" over 300 billion pounds in a few weeks.
That means all those shares have been converted into cash and bonds.
That means that the banks are now stuffed full of cash, exactly what they wanted.
If shares remain low, that situation would stay the same...banks fully funded.
So a partial collapse of the stockmarket would actually be very helpful at the moment?
Shareholders bailing out the credit crunch?
All of us armchair economists might like to know the answer to that.
