Eight Minutes of Torture...for me...

Published: Wednesday August 27,2008 by aircanukgal

With the enormous wealth of cultural resources in England Wales Scotlnd and Ireland to draw upon for this 'mini' perspective of UK OLYMPIC 2012 this was a big 'dud'. There should have been MORE emphasis on the 'althetic' and 'sporty' side of things instead of trying to turn it into a failed 'rock' concert come football display which it dismally disappointed in its efforts to accomplish anything but confusion.
The UK 'officials' need to start thinking more globally on this and even although 8mins.is a brief show it was agonising in its boredom and amatuerish and quite frankly like a 3rd rate failed West End show from years ago.
Come on LONDON you can certainly produce much more imagination and quality than this and if it costs thousands of pounds then that was a sick joke.Even Welsh choirs with stunning Jenkins and some Highland dancers along with a Pipe band would have been more appropo and asfar as Becks is concerned Football isnt even an Olympic sport??Or even Wills and Harry riding in on POLO ponies would have had more star power!! Get busy and dont repeat this embarrassment which the UK athletes worked so hard to dispell.
