Olympic Glory

Just want to say CONGRATS to all the athletes who participated and in doing so defined the Games for ME. Sure the Chinese put on a massive show whether is was spectacular is a matter of opinion!! Personally I found the entertainment part of the Games the least enjoyable as they appeared so controlled,contrived and all th state sponsered smiles were a reminder of the thousands of Chinese who have suffered to put on a gigantic media display which really was like a very long movie,for me. They are frightening reminders of a communist regime that rules with an iron fist.Yes London's Games will be quite different but they should be more authentic and closer to the core values of the OLYMPICS and we dont need thousands of "extras" performing to make a decent show. There will always be comparisons to Beijing but if the UK stays true to its history and youthful exuberance like the athletes displayed then the Games will be Great !! Maybe Boris will have a smaller waistline and a better suit by then !!
