European Community-Referendum

Published: Saturday August 16,2008 by rafa232

Is there a politician (s) or political party, brave enough to suggest we have a European wide referendum? It does appear that, not only the UK citizens, but European citizens as a whole are becoming more and more disatisfied with the monster that has emerged.
We should go back to the original concept of a European Free Trade area and leave it at that, if this does not work then scrap the whole idea.
It would rid us once and for all of the massive waste created in Brussels and relieve everyone of the petty beurocratic nonsense constantly being spewed out by unelected jobsworths.
The only benefits that have come out of the present situation, is being enjoyed by the "few joyriders" in positions of absolute power, unaccountability and unelected, who are filling their pockets at the expense of every one else.
History tells us that a United States of Europe will not work, too many have tried before.
