Don't We Know It!

Once you have hit the big 40 your card is marked as far as the NHS is concerned.
The big 40 is when one has peaked (especially the male of the species)
You are on the downward spiral and you are; according to the number crunchers, definitely going to be a burden a liability and an embarrassment to all generally and the NHS in particular with the passing of time.
Your GP (an NHS programmed robot) will tell you, your blood pressure is high which magically happens at forty (It may well have been through the roof since the day you were born but is only discovered on the day of your fortieth). His/her prognosis is for you to Stop smoking (whether you do or not), Stop drinking, (whether you do or not) do not go with rude women (or men) whether you do or not. One or more of these is likely to the reason for your now alleged illness real or otherwise.
You will be given a course of beta blockers or the like,which you will be on for the remainder of your existence and still at such a tender age you will pay through the nose for the prescriptions assuming you are still fit to contribute to the coffers of the realm.
By the time you get to fifty or so your system is so fcuked up by these legally administered drugs basic NHS care can do Sweet Fanny Adams for you or any of your ilk and this is why you will not get it!
