Is Labour destroying the school system

Published: Thursday August 7,2008 by fifigirl

I feel privileged to have received my education during the 40s and 50s when teachers knew how to teach and stood for no nonsense from anyone.

Years ago when checking my daughter's homework (she is now in her 40s) I was astounded at the number of spelling mistakes in her essay. When I confronted her about it her reply was, "The teacher says it doesn't matter about the spelling. It is how you express yourself". That was 30 years ago, and obviously nothing has changed.

If that was the standard of teaching then, those pupils are now the teachers. No wonder kids cannot string a sentence together nor spell.

The education system in the U.K. has been in gradual decline for decades and the system today is running completely amok!
