we should learn from the (non eu) swiss

In Switzerland, they are to have a referendum. The subject of the referendum is the topic of minarets (on top of mosques). Some Swiss felt that minarets are used as a symbol of power and dominance over the locals,and objected to them. 100000 signatures later, the government MUST hold a referendum. That's democracy. The sort the fascist left (and right) hate. The system where the ordinary people actually get to say how they live their lives. No doubt if this news ever gets into our media the Swiss will be painted as "far right" islamophobes (whatever they are supposed to be).
