Has Baghdad's Comlical Ali got a job at the Treasury ?

Published: Monday June 30,2008 by TrevorD

"A Treasury spokesman claimed fuel duty had fallen by 16 per cent in real terms since 1999. (YEAH, RIGHT !)
“The Government is very conscious of the pressures on families and businesses resulting from increases in worldwide oil prices,” he said. (NOT SO YOU'D NOTICE.)
“There is no tax windfall from higher fuel prices. " (CUE HOOTS OF DERISION !)
--------------------------------------------------------
3 blatant lies in one statement ? This Treasury spokesman must believe that we are all naive idiots !
And "There is no tax windfall from higher fuel prices" must surely rank alongside Comical Ali's classic "There are no tanks in Baghdad" as they rumbled past behind him.
