In a few words:

Brown the failure

Published: Saturday June 28,2008 by TrevorD

"Brown said that, of course, Labour must listen to what people said, but his job was to improve public services, get the economy moving and help people facing higher bills."
----------------------------------------------------------
Yes, right. He tries to shift the subject for debate from what people are really brassed off about to some esoteric idea of his "job" that he can claim to be fulfilling.
He has missed one vital factor - all of that has been his job (allegedly!) for the past 11 years.
But he has FAILED to improve public services (and is now threatened with crippling strikes by those who reap a good living at our expense running them).
He has NOT got the economy moving, except backwards into recession.
And he has NOT helped people paying higher bills. Indeed his higher taxes policy has made their financial pain worse. AND HE IS STILL AT IT ! So he has learned NOTHING !
In short, he is an utter bloody failure and I am just surprised that it took Labour MPs so long to realise it.
He was never a good Chancellor. He merely inherited a good "set of books" from the Tories and then rode on the crest of the wave of a world economic boom, seeking to take the credit personally for it's economic benefits.
I am reminded of one of his more rash and spurious claims which he now clearly wants people to forget about :-
"I have ended Boom and Bust".
Tch ! Yeah, right. We are now seeing just how much !
Never a good Chancellor, he has made an even worse self-annointed Prime Minister.
(Tony Blair must be peeing himself laughing. After spending 10 years stabbing him in the back to get his job, Brown demonstrates within a year that he is simply not up to doing the job.)
The one good thing about it all is that, once we have the opportunity via a General Election to get rid of this incompetent dolt, and his sleazy expenses-obsessed government with him, the Labour party won't get even a sniff of power for 20 years.
