POVERTY STRICKEN JEFF HOON - NULABOUR DIPSTICK

Published: Friday May 30,2008 by panadero

On last night's BBC1 Question Time a question was asked about MPs' bid to up their pay to £100,000 pa. The response of panellist Jeff Hoon (NuLabour Chief Whip who apparently talks to Brown every day) was to tell us about his constituency circumstances; why he needed the expenses; about his modest background and how his father had left school at the age of 14 years. Poor old Jeff - we'll send the hat round for you!
Mr Hoon's comments were yet another example of the gulf separating Parliament and people. At a time of imminent recession and associated unemployment; soaring food, energy and fuel prices and a falling housing market the very last thing that ordinary citizens want to see is their elected representatives voting themselves a massive pay increase - paid for by us. That's the point Mr Hoon but you just don't get it, do you?. Before very long you will be telling us that the economic crisis is all OUR FAULT.
