IThe Daily Mail account of what happened beggars belief, from this side of the Atlantic it would seem that the British allowed Chinese goons to make their presence felt in London

No way Josay would the US permit such an outrage, Chinese goons taking on U.S. police but above all U.S. citizens? Not in a month of Sunday's. What a sight! British police officers flanking the Chinese thugs and taking on Britons. In London? In England?

Have you all gone mad over there? What a laughing stock. I can just see these Chinese "defenders of the torch" taking on the French riot police or even French citizens. Don't even go down that road with the Germans. And the Russians? Forget it.

Gordon Brown seems hell bent on destroying all that is British, or shall we say English. Talk about harking back to the good - bad old says of Scots marauding across the border, this makes them look like a party of tourists.

Wake up you folks!
